Mali - Walk Away (Official Music Video) Mali releases an old favourite, Walk Away, which only existed in the form of a Youtube live session for over 6 years. The song, even before its formal release, was a hit. It’s a perpetual request at all Mali’s live performances and has been covered multiple times by other artists on Youtube and at college fests. Around a decade ago, Mali’s best friend suffered a bad breakup and went through a difficult time processing it. It was around this time that Mali herself had split from her band and was embarking on a solo career. She channelled both experiences into writing Walk Away, a song about picking up the pieces and finding strength in going it alone. The single explores a more neo-folk pop sound and has been reimagined to be darker and more ambient than the live version which existed before. -- Track Credits : Written, composed and performed by Mali Drums : Jehangir Jehangir Bass : Stuart DaCosta Guitars : Jishnu Guha Backing Vocals : Mallika Barot and Aria Nanji Produced by Jehangir Jehangir Mixed by Aria Nanji Mastered by Kristian Montano Recorded at : Island City Studios -- Video Credits : Director/Producer : Naman Saraiya (https://www.instagram.com/namansaraiya/) Creative Director : Parizad D (https://www.instagram.com/parizad_d/) Executive Producer : Agastya Bhatia (https://www.instagram.com/agastya_bhatia/) DP : Swaraj Sriwastav (https://www.instagram.com/swaraj_sriwastav/) Editor : Sourya Sen (https://www.instagram.com/ayruos/) Post Producer : Manisha Rajendran (https://www.instagram.com/manisharajendran/) GFX/Online : Aditya Wagh (https://www.instagram.com/adityaawagh/) Colorist : Sahil Amin (https://www.instagram.com/porcupig/) Camera Rentals : Video Plus Prop Shop : Fine Props (Mumbai) -- Lyrics : You walked into the room And you said that it's over. But you keep saying it's over, over and over again. But this time you meant it And I really felt it. I knew that this was bound to end. So go ahead, walk out the door. I don't really care cuz I've been there before. You wasted my time and I wasted yours, So just leave me now. Walk away I don't need you. Walk away I know that you don't need me too We weren't meant to be So just stay away from me. Walk away, walk away. I used to be so blind But I never did know it And even if you really cared just a little Why didn't you show it? Now you're in my past It all ended so fast I'm so glad we decided to throw it all away. So go ahead, walk out the door. I don't really care cuz I've been there before. You wasted my time and I wasted yours, So just leave me now. Walk away I don't need you. Walk away I know that you don't need me too We weren't meant to be So just stay away from me Walk away, walk away. -- Follow me on : Website: https://www.maalavikamanoj.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/malimanojmusic Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/malimanojmusic Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/MaalavikaManoj/ Streaming Platforms: https://maalavikamanoj.com/stream/ #WalkAway #Mali #MaalavikaManoj
