I was in the studio for a full week with the same producer and we were a couple days in at this point. We had been writing darker songs so, on this day, I felt like writing the complete opposite to mix it up. The song was written from scratch in about six hours and felt like a total blur because we were just in the zone and on a total high writing it!” - Fourth Daughter VIDEO CREDITS Artist - Fourth Daughter Director - Elise Schatz Executive Producer - Jeff Haskell Producer - Lukas Lennon Production Coordinator - Sean Jacobson DP - Connor Smyers 1st AC - Aaron Hill Gaffer - Mitch Storey Steadicam - Isaak Morin Production Designer - Tara Tajdini Stylist - Rumsha Hassan HMU - Ceili Lang Vibe supplier - Ysabelle Wallace VFX/Editor - Avery Sadowski Colorist - Avery Niles Color Producer - Juan Felipe Díaz also starring Driver - Jackie Green Store Clerk - Hector Palacios Written by Elise Schatz & Rehma Hassan Produced by Ophelia & Company LYRICS Higher (x7) Let go of all ties, There’s a new silver lining, The chemicals fly, It’s just the right timing. We should chase it, Dim the voices with chains around your mind, On the daily if you feel hazy just open up your eyes It takes you higher, higher (x3) It takes you higher, higher (x2) I thought I was lost, The feeling is fading, No second thoughts, Just no need to be waiting. We should chase it, Dim the voices with chains around your mind, On the daily if you feel hazy just open up your eyes. I’m chasing all the signs, I take it in slowly, and lose all sense of time, here it doesn’t get lonely. It takes you higher, (x3) higher, (x3) It takes you higher, just a feeling (x2) FOLLOW FOURTH DAUGHTER Website: http://www.fourthdaughter.world/ Instagram: https://4thdaughter.seeker.fm/instagram.OYD TikTok: https://4thdaughter.seeker.fm/tiktok.OYD Twitter: https://4thdaughter.seeker.fm/twitter.OYD Facebook: https://4thdaughter.seeker.fm/facebook.OYD STREAM FOURTH DAUGHTER Spotify: https://4thdaughter.seeker.fm/spotify.OYD Apple Music: https://4thdaughter.seeker.fm/applemusic.OYD Amazon Music: https://4thdaughter.seeker.fm/amazonmusic.OYD ABOUT FOURTH DAUGHTER The youngest of four daughters, Emily Atkinson aka Fourth Daughter, creates euphoric electro from the Scottish capital. Drawing influence from the likes of Rufus Du Sol, Jamie xx, and Sylvan Esso, her lush, intricately textured music is imbued with emotional narratives that offer a cathartic and joyous release. Born and raised in the endless countryside, Atkinson has always found her sense of escape in music. Inspired by her dad’s synth-heavy CD collection, she began playing piano at the age of 7, eventually becoming classically trained. At university, she finally turned her own hand to synths, discovering on Pro Tools “a world of open possibilities.” With her music’s arresting blend of pulsating synths, luminous soundscapes and her own radiant vocals, listening to Fourth Daughter feels like bathing in the Balearic sun. With plenty of support slots under her belt including Sylvan Esso, Japanese House & SG Lewis to name but a few, Fourth Daughter took to headlining her solo show in Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2023 and rounded it off with a slot at BBC Introducing live at the Edinburgh festival. With her soul-on-sleeve approach and undeniable talent as an artist, producer and writer, Atkinson is quickly turning heads and hearts, establishing herself as one of electronic music’s most exciting rising talents. Fourth Daughter’s music is an irresistible island of escape, with a rapidly growing population. Remix by 😡👶 coming soon...
