A documentary film about the fate of Soviet cinema in the early years after the Great Patriotic War up to the "Thaw" period. The first postwar decade went down in the history of Soviet cinema as the era of "few films"-there was simply no money for film production. It was a contradictory time. On the one hand, filmmakers diligently created the image of the enemy in the new-Cold-War. On the other hand, international connections were not severed, and a vast number of "trophy" films were released in Soviet distribution.
