David Samoylov (1920 - 1990), one of the greatest Russian poets of the 2nd half of the 20th century, had spent the final years of his life in Estonia's seaside town Parnu. It was here, in Estonia, where he wrote his best poems. It was here, in a cozy house on Toominga street, where he could fully express his feelings through words. Samoylov's poetry reflects existential drama and his intuitive perception of the world. The poet captured life's beauty and harmony and the town of Parnu served his inspiration. Estonian actor Eduard Tee met with the people who knew David Samoylov and shared their memories about him for this special documentary. The film contains some unique materials from the archives of the Estonian Public Broadcasting including Samoylov reading his poems.
