Presents a day in the life of a few inhabitants of Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands: A father and his daughter are having breakfast when the fire-brigade drive by. Crammed into Henshaw's car with their improbable merchandise, they head west across Ireland. We slowly discover that each of them is traveling for a very different reason. Each has a secret and a past that seem destined to catch up with them by the end of the trip. By turns comic and tragic, Hard Shoulder takes you along on a journey across Ireland with a delightfully uncertain ending.
