International Aboriginal spokesperson, medal recipient from Queen Elizabeth II, digital art pioneer with a Ph.D. in Fine Arts, singer/songwriter with seven albums and an Academy Award for the song Up Where We Belong - this list only skims the surface of the remarkable achievements of Buffy Sainte-Marie. Buffy lights up the screen as this documentary offers privileged access to her life backstage, on reserves and at her home in Hawaii and mixes current performance footage with archival film. Interviews with Joni Mitchell, Robbie Robertson, Bill Cosby, Randy Bachman, John Kay and Eric Andersen add even more star power to the documentary.
