Undercover journalist Günter Wallraff is interested about cheap production for large discounters. Under a different identity he works at a large bakery in Rhineland, which provides for Lidl cheap bread. Four weeks he toils in slavery-like working conditions in shift work for a wage of 7.66 euros gross at temperatures up to 50 degrees, he burns his arms on hot baking sheets and discovers dangerous accident-prone safety deficiencies on the conveyor belts.
