'Malerversted' is an experimental art documentary that captures the process of painting. The film played as part of the official 'Artweek Auckland' program in 2014. It can be said that this is no ordinary documentary as it distances itself from the notion of explaining but rather attempts to provide a space where the audience can participate in the artistic experience. With its slow pace and scarcity of any sound, the film provides the time and environment necessary for a painting to unfold on screen. The Malerversksted(Painting Workshop) was a painting workshop and initiative for individuals based in the Vidaråsen, camphill community in southern Norway. The workshop began in 2009 and was run by artist Hannes Weigert.
