Many families from the Dutch East Indies came after years of suffering in Japanese prison camps to the Netherlands, where they were often treated as intruders. For over 60 years, they were silenced. Filmmaker Dorna of Rouveroy, born in Jakarta, presents difficult questions about the past of her family. She speaks with her father, cameraman Robert Rouveroy, and his two sisters May and Frida. All three interviewees tell for the first time for the first time about the painful events. The film ends with a protest march in The Hague, a last attempt to bring recognition to the attention of the Dutch Government.
