Following the 1946 Haitian Student Strike and Marxist demonstrations, poet, painter, and photographer Gérald Bloncourt went into exile in France, where he soon became one of the most important photographer of the French workers' movement.

In a state of partial hypnotic trance, 4 people are asked about the truth that guides them, that motivates them to act and create in this world. In the background stands a motionless figure, " the unconscious guard " symbolized by a character on the border of the absurd, folklore and the holy, inspired by the series " Wilder Mann" by Charles Fréger. The location : an anechoic chamber, an absolute silence to collect valuable speech and integrity.
