In the Brazilian Amazon, a small village preserves ancient traditions and festivals in honor of Catholic saints. The largest and oldest of these, the Feast of Saint James (São Tiago), harks back to the town's origin story in the Portuguese citadel of Mazagan, on the Moroccan coast. 246 years after the migration of Portuguese colonists from Africa to Brazil, two descendants of this epic story embark on an unprecedented journey to rediscover their community's origins.
