In Shimanto, they use the phrase, "ii shimai" or "a good conclusion." To be able to eat, to have no pain, talk with people and be amongst friends until your last moment, this is considered a "good conclusion." Death is a sad reality. But, "ii shimai" connotes not only sorrow for the deceased but also appreciation for the struggles that the deceased and their supporters experience.
