The documentary begins with the author's own belief (as a naturalised citizen in Ticino for 15 years) in the magical parallel landscape that lies between the Gotthard and Chiasso. He introduces us to the side of Ticino that has inspired, welcomed and even protected those who have come, and those who keep coming, to live out their lives - on their own terms.
