Thus begins the play in which the Russian playwright Chekhov, intertwined with love and artistic desires, creates a picture of human suffering at the threshold of the 20th century - in place of famous deeds and romantic heroes, the pains of modern man stand. The Seagull production by the National Theater Brno is looking for stage poetry in a non-poetic age. The recording was made on the stage of the magnificent Mahen Theater from the 19th century.
