Less known is his collaboration with Gunnar Fischer, whose contribution to Bergman's directing career was pivotal, through movies such as "The Seventh Seal", "A Summer with Monica", "Smiles of a Summernight", "The Face" and "Wild Strawberries", to name a few. Our essay documentary explores Fischer's life and work, based on his still unpublished autobiographical account "Aaterblickar" ("Flashbacks").
