In March 2020, life in Spain changed drastically. The country entered one of the strictest and most prolonged lock-downs in the world, declared under a State of Emergency due to Covid-19. As the ICUs in hospitals became overwhelmed, fear spread across the nation. Globally, panic reached unprecedented levels, and it felt as though the world as we knew it was coming to an end. Amidst this crisis, the elderly in care homes faced extreme vulnerability, enduring neglect and isolation. This film reconstructs that extraordinary period through the eyes of those who lived through the lock-down, delving into their fears, hopes, and the profound transformation of a society brought to a standstill. Filmed material by the director and videos sent by family members and members of the public throughout social media and messaging apps, offering an intimate and personal perspective on the events, are woven together with newspaper headlines from that time to capture the media's portrayal of the crisis and the public's response to the unfolding emergency. The film unfolds as a powerful and emotional account, bringing together personal stories and media coverage to document the collective experience of one of the most defining moments of modern history.
