Professor Anindya is a very honest and upright person. He lives a happy and peaceful life with his wife Daya and their only son Arin. His father-in-law Pramatha Ganguly dislikes Anindya for his being a simple Bengali teacher. He favors his younger son in law Ranjan who is a very rich man. Ranjan is the husband of Sutapa (sister of Daya). Arin falls in love with Shreya (a good student of Anindya). Ranjan misguides Arin. At last, Ranjan is found to be a fraud man. Moral: Gold is gold but all that glitters is not gold.
