There is a global ecological crisis on our planet. According to Czech scientist Josef Smajs, nature should be granted the same, if not greater, rights than those guaranteed to us, the people, by current state constitutions. The document outlines the principle of so-called evolutionary ontology, which argues that the emergence and escalation of global problems on the planet are a consequence of the way our culture is structured. We have reached a point where human activities are putting the future habitability of our planet at risk. Reducing the carbon footprint, recycling waste, and seeking alternative energy sources are not enough. According to Josef Smajs, it is necessary for states to fundamentally revise their constitutions, and for us, the people, to recognize that our highest priority should be the protection of future life and the adoption of the concept of a biophilic culture, as outlined in the draft of 'A Constitution for the Earth.'
