Susan McPhail aslen Memphis, Tennessee'lidir ve şu anda Oxford, Mississippi'de yaşamaktadır. Aktör Johnny McPhail ile 1982'den beri evlidir. Susan profesyonel oyunculuğa 2013 yılında başladı ve A Walk in the Woods, Mississippi Grind, The Peanut Butter Falcon, One of These Days, Paradise Highway, Blue Bayou ve Rumble Through the Dark gibi filmlerde rol aldı.
