Todd Honeycutt grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where at the age of
five, he was playing piano by ear. Although having a natural ability to
hear and sing harmonies in his childhood years, he had seen himself
more as growing up to be keyboardist in a band. However, he later
realized it was his singing voice that was his forte. His vocal
influences were strictly R&B in his teens and 20's, listening to and
emulating Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Prince, and others. He didn't
start performing on stage until his 20's, appearing in many musical
theatre productions in Atlanta, Georgia while working a full time
office job. During that time, he had the once-in-a-lifetime experience
of being in the choir for the
Centennial Olympic Games: Opening Ceremonies (1996).
After getting paying jobs as a singer, he realized after many years
that his passions lie in music. He jumped off the cliff and left the
security of his day job and began a career as a full time performer. As
fate would have it after a few years of performing with bands and on
cruise ships, Todd had the great privilege to sing backup vocals on the
Elton John album "Peachtree Road" in 2004,
and subsequently toured Europe and the U.S. with him in 2005. After
moving to Los Angeles in 2008, Todd began singing with the world
renowned Los Angeles Master Chorale. He has sung on many film
soundtracks including
Sihirbazın Çırağı (2010),
Godzilla (2014) and
Jersey'li Çocuklar (2014). He also had the
silly opportunity to be part of a choir singing "The Star Spangled
Banner" (WAY off key) in a promo for the
Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne (2012),
conducted by Roseanne herself.
