Luke Allen-Gale was born in Weymouth, Dorset and grew up in and around the towns and villages of both Dorset & Somerset, England. Son to a cabinet-maker father and a Scientist mother who separated when he was young, Luke moved around a lot as a youngster, spending a portion of his youth living with his Gran (Nan), whom he had a close bond.

In 2005, after successfully auditioning, Luke went to Drama Centre London with the support of his family to complete their intensive, 3 year training. He worked several jobs to help afford the training and In his final year he was picked up by the agency Markham, Froggatt & Irwin. Luke left early to work on Kenneth Branagh's Wallander (2008) and has lived in London ever since.

During the filming of Peter Kosminsky's 'The Promise' Luke put his articulated vehicle license to good use, driving the director and crew members around on a front-mounted scaffold which was attached to a military tank.

When he was young, he represented his county at Rugby and continues to enjoy and take part in sports and competition. He is a nature lover and active supporter and volunteer of charity work.
