Alex Joffé was born on 18 November 1918 in Alexandria, Egypt. He was a writer and director, known for Du rififi chez les femmes (1959), La grosse caisse (1965) and Les fanatiques (1957). He was married to Renée Asseo. He died on 18 August 1995 in Paris, France.
