Leticia Castillo was born in the Dominican Republic. Arriving in the U.S. at only five years old, she learned the language by watching American television. Even at that early age her love of film sparked a passion which would push her into acting, writing and directing for both screen and stage. Leticia is especially inspired by stories that reflect the experience of women of color.

On screen, Leticia has worked with such esteemed actors as Jennifer Lopez, Jeremy Piven, and John Leguizamo. Some of her notable credits include, "When they see us", "Shades of Blue" and "For life." A career high came when Leticia landed a role that was directed by Ava Duvernay.

Leticia's creativity in film and television goes beyond acting. She has written, produced, and directed several well-received works such as the plays "Yo soy Latina" and "A little Sugar for the heart"; which won best play. The short film "Los Angeles" which was accepted into the Borimix film festival, as well as a YouTube series, "Mixmatched." Leticia also channels her support of the acting community as a co-founder of the Downstage Central Theatre.

Along the way, Leticia has had the honor of mastering her craft with a collective of incredible teachers. In New York she has worked with Susan Batson, Carl Ford, Richard Pinter, Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, Chicago City Limits, Brad Calcaterra, and Kimball Studios. In Los Angeles, she studied with Joe Anthony, Aaron Speiser, Kathy Kinney and Jerry Katzman who's coaching inspired her to break into stand-up at the famed Comedy Store.

Leticia feels that through acting, she is fulfilling her artistic purpose. With every role comes a new opportunity for Leticia to showcase her unique talent, and she could not be more excited.
