Isabel Wagner is more than meets the eye. An American actress of Romanian descent, Wagner's family was in the opposition and part of the dissident movement during the Communist past. Finding her passion and receiving her first taste of fame as a successful model while in high school doing runway shows, editorials, television shows, magazine covers and promoting for several companies and designers brought her to her real passion in acting.
After receiving a Bachelor's of Arts from the University of Bucharest and completing her studies abroad at the University of Salamanca, Spain with an Erasmus scholarship, she received a PhD in political science from the University of California, Riverside. Wagner recently authored a book based on her dissertation "No Rule of Law, No Democracy," which was published by SUNY Press. Teaching at some of the most prestigious liberal arts colleges in America, including Pomona College, Scripps College and Pitzer College, it's clear to see that this talented actress, author and writer has more to offer the world.
Wagner's first taste of acting started after being cast in a play written by her father at only 11 years old. Her love of acting carried her to Hollywood where she played several roles in various productions, including "Can You Watch This," "The Long Look Back," "Battle Creek," "The Egg Farmer," "Falling Snow," "The Conspiracy Cover Up," and "Entourage." From there, she joined the Theatre 68 Company in 2015 and has been part of multiple productions, including "Dracula," "Connect," "The Proposal," "Toad Town," and "15 Minutes to Curtain." The play "Connect," for which she was an assistant director, won the best play award at the Valley Theatre Awards in 2016. This led her to realize her passion for directing and writing while being part of the Theatre 68 Company. Some projects include directing the one act "15 Minutes to Curtain," and the short film "Another Patron," which she wrote, starred in, and produced. Wagner has several scripts based on her political knowledge, two of them, "iEval" and "The Anti-Corruption Federation," in development.
