Katie Wagner was born on May 11, 1964 in Los Angeles, California to
actor Robert Wagner and his wife,
Marion Marshall. In 1987, Katie got her
big break when she and her dad were featured on the TV show,
Born Famous (1987). The show's
host asked her what she would like to do and she answered "I would like
to do what you do". Her first gig was interviewing
Dan Aykroyd and his wife,
Donna Dixon, for the ABC special, "M
& W". That interview led Katie to a two-and-half-year run on Movietime
network (Now E!) She also had minor roles in two movies, and dated
rocker Dweezil Zappa. She also worked as
an MTV VJ and hosted the Great Britian show, "Hollywood Report". She
also filled in for Chris Connelly
on The Big Picture (1988),
co-hosted 22 episodes of the TBS show, "Live from the House of Blues",
and joined Robin Leach for the final
two seasons of
Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous (1984).
She also made another guest spot in a movie,
Dill Scallion (1999), where she
played a reporter.
In 1999, Katie joined TV Guide Channel where she hosted "Music News", "What's On" and "TV Talk". She also interviewed many celebrities including Ty Pennington, Rod Stewart and her dad, Robert Wagner. She left in June 2004 to pursue other hosting gigs. Later that year, she guest-starred in Charmed (1998) and was featured on Good Day Live (2001) with her dad. In 2005, she hosted the short-lived WB reality show, The Starlet (2005). Katie, now 42, is getting ready for her biggest and best job of all - motherhood.
