Born in Seoul, South Korea, Andrew moved to White Rock in Canada when he was 13. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Comm degree and worked as an officer for the government before pursuing a career in acting.

He is a graduate from the acting program at the Toronto Film School, and has studied extensively in Canada, US, UK, Italy and South Korea.
