An Nguyen graduated from New York University's renowned Tisch School of
the Arts with a degree in Acting. She continued to hone her craft at
the famed Caymichael Patten Studio, where talents such as Maria Bello,
Edie Falco and Bridget Moynahan previously studied.
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, she immigrated to America with her uncle and aunt at the young age of 3 years old. While her husband was at work, An's mother, wanting a better life for her only child, asked her brother to take An with him and his pregnant wife as they immigrated to America. An's mother promised to join her daughter in America as soon as both she and An's father were able. Little did she know that would not be for another 13 years. Over that more than a decade apart An grew up in St. Louis, telling the amazing story of her immigration to America with her uncle and aunt. A charismatic story teller, acting was a natural progression. Soon she was starring in school plays and on her way to study acting at NYU.
Nguyen's performance as Jennifer Marcus in "The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow" garnered rave reviews. An's hard work began to pay off when she was cast as the lead in David Kaplan's "Year of The Fish", premiering at this year's Sundance Film Festival. She can be seen alongside Terrence Howard and Jodie Foster in the vigilante thriller "The Brave One" and opposite Ryan Reynolds in the romantic comedy "Definitely, Maybe". Her next film is the French romantic comedy "A New York Thing" with Stephanie Sjostak and Greta Gerwig.
A committed performer with a powerful and uncompromising presence on both the screen and stage, An has continually sought quality roles.
An resides in Los Angeles.
