Born in Melbourne, Australia, Karim Ford Sarhan (also known as Karim Ford or Ford Sarhan) is an actor, producer, writer and director recognised for his work as a writer and producer on the 2012 short film Stone. The film features Indigenous Australian actor Uncle Jack Charles and follows an inquisitive teen (played by Jai Smith-Goode) as he heads out to his favourite spot, a place of peace and serenity, where he is surprised to find an old man contemplating. Together, they sit and wordlessly form a bond. The film he co-wrote and produced with his brother, Charlie Ford and Nathan Roderick Diaz. The film premiered at the 2012 Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) and played at the Festival de Cannes and other notable film festivals worldwide. He is also known for producing several high-profile music videos for award-winning Australian music artists and bands. He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of technology startup Atlasshorts, a short film streaming company that provides library access to 100 years of short cinema. The service was launched in 2017 alongside notable Australian film producer and former co-founder Alexandros Ouzas. Atlasshorts is a Startmate, venture-backed company with customers in Australia, the United Kingdom and China.
