Polis dedektifi Richard Malinowski’nin (J. Dujardin) 10 yaşındaki kızı vahşice öldürülür. Suçlu kısa sürede yakalanır. Ama Richard bir türlü bu çok hızlı sonuçlanan soruşturmaya inanmaz ve kendi araştırmasını yürütmeye başlar.
