Geraldine Moffat
Geraldine Moffat
Oyuncu
English supporting actress of the 60s and 70, best known for her steamy role as Glenda in the Michael Caine cult gangster flic Alçaklar (1971). Her casting by director Mike Hodges had been on account of two strong earlier performances in anthology TV dramas devised by Alun Owen. Her local background also lent itself to maintaining the film's regional authenticity.
The daughter of Eric Gerald Moffat and his wife Doris Emmie (née Wells), Geraldine was born in Nottingham and trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She made her debut on the stage in a 1959 Old Vic production of Lysistrata and acted in several plays for the Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company in 1964. Her first regular role on the screen was as a veterinarian's aide in Badger's Bend (1963), a series for children, released by Associated-Rediffusion Television. Often featured in glamorous, chic roles, Geraldine made subsequent guest appearances on several popular prime- time entertainments like The Baron (1966), Department S (1969), Z Cars (1962),UFO (1970) and Amansızlar (1971).
In 1971, Geraldine married the West End solicitor (and alto saxophonist) Walter Maurice Houser. She retired from screen acting in 1980. Her two sons are video game designers Sam and Dan Houser.
