Tiffany Elle Burgess is a trained actress, writer, and producer. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Hampton University in 2001 and a Master of Public Health degree from Emory University in 2002. She launched her acting career through the Premier Actors' Network in Atlanta, Georgia, and is represented by People Store Talent Agency. Ms. Burgess has appeared in short films (including the award-winning short film, Glitter Ain't Gold, produced by rapper/actor, Common), commercials, web series, and ABC's The Wonder Years. She made her big screen debut in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical, The Color Purple, in the role of Olivia, Celie's daughter.
Ms. Burgess is also a published author. She released her first children's book, Skin Like Mine, in 2016. Skin Like Mine was well received and featured in the February 2017 issue of Essence magazine among other publications. She subsequently released an animated short film based on the book. Ms. Burgess released her second children's book, The Adventures of Junior and Baby Brother: Spencer's Special Gift in 2019 and her third children's book, Decisions, Decisions, in 2023. Ms. Burgess has contributed articles to Huffington Post and Blavity.
Ms. Burgess is one-third of the film production team, Tyler Street Films. Her partners, Jack Manning, III and Lawrence "LAW" Watford, are also Hampton University alums. Ms. Burgess has written screenplays for the production company. The trio's short films--Flipped, Catharsis, and Skin Like Mine Animated Short Film--have been screened in festivals all over the country and internationally.
