He developed and taught the first college course in Baseball Analysis and Sabermetrics at Tufts University where he was a Visiting Lecturer in Sabermetrics. He also initiated, designed, and taught the highly popular BU MOOC "Sabermetrics 101: Introduction to Baseball Analytics" to more than 70,000 registered students on the edx.org platform.
As a Baseball Analyst he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR) Analytics Conference.
His mother has been a successful working actress since 1965, and his brother produces and directs movies.
His former students and mentees occupy front offices in the NBA, MLS, and MLB, where one was recently named General Manager. In addition to consulting with industry and professional sports teams, Andres is also a part-time MLB stringer and pitch clock operator at Fenway Park, a Data Analyst for BaseballHQ.com, and former Head Coach/Lead instructor for the MIT Science of Baseball Program. His research has been presented online in various TEDx talks and Talks at Google, including the latest on the Sticky Stuff Scandal, and at the SABR Analytics, SABR National, SaberSeminar, and MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conferences. These pursuits allow him to synthesize his twin loves: baseball and scientific inquiry.
Andres is honored to be part of the Sean Mullin movie "It Ain't Over" about the greatness of Yogi Berra.
