Ravneet Sippy Chadha was born and raised in India.She was sent to a boarding school at a very young age, that stifled her self expression. At university, she studied Psychology. She then went onto to study Business in Toronto, Canada, where she lived for seven years. She is married and lives in Nairobi, Kenya with her husband and two children.

Until a few years ago, Sippy, was in financial services until she decided to pursue her passion in filmmaking by telling her stories. That marked her shift from finance to filmmaking. She has written, directed and produced four short films; Subira (2007), Tick Tock (2006), Kibera Kid (2006) and Charcoal Traffic (2008).

Subira-short film won 10 international awards worldwide and was distribution in France's Cinecinema cable TV ,Spain and Brussels in Europe. In Kenya, on KTN, MTV and Citizen TV. She wants to tell her stories on a world-stage to express her unique point of view.

Based on the success of her short film, She wrote, directed and produced her Subira (2018) A Kenyan - Danish co-production. Shot in Lamu and Nairobi, Kenya.She is the process of releasing her debut feature film.
