Born in Helsinki (with Finnish mother and Sicilian father) I live now in Rome. Graduated in Philosophy, during the University years I carried out a long and patient apprenticeship in Theater and Cinema, at the same time I continued to deepen her preparation in writing and shooting techniques. My debut as Director in 2000 with my first feature film "Le Sciamane" ("The Witch Doctors); in 2004 I wrote and directed "L'amore di Màrja"("Marja) which won numerous awards including the Golden Globe of the Foreign Press as "Outstandig Director"; in 2009 I wrote and directed "Il Prossimo tuo" ("Thy Neighbour"). Since 2010 I used the live action 3D tecnology, making the first Italian 3D short film, "Victims" and then I made the first feature-length film in 3D live action directed by a woman, "I'M endless like the space", selected as Special Event during the "Venice Days" of the 2017 Venice Film Festival. "I'M infinita come lo spazio" is also a novel, published in Italy by Il Foglio Letterario, book which I wrote as a spin-off of the Film and was selected for "Premio Strega" Award. As screenwriter, I was co-writer for several films ("Benzina" by Monica Stambrini in 1999, "Voce del Verbo Amore" by Andrea Manni in 2007, "Gli Anni belli" by Lorenzo d'Amico de Carvalho in 2020) and for a Italian-Portuguese documentary, "Rua do Prior 41" by Lorenzo d'Amico de Carvalho. In 2022 I wrote and directed the film "Gli Immortali" now in post-production. In the meantime, over the years, some of my theatre-plays were staged in Italian theatres and I have worked as Script Doctor for screenplays and as Tutor for young Directors, I'm also Professor in Filmaking and Direction of Actors at RUFA (Rome University of Film Arts). I also wrote a Filmaking Handbook "The Director's Journey" (Resh Stories) , which is the textbook of the Filmaking and Direction of Actors classes at RUFA.
