Dan Ramos is a Filipino tour de force to be reckoned with in the industry Ramos is an actor, comedian and filmmaker from Montreal Canada. He started filming his family at the age of 13 with a JVC hi8, in high school filmed essays instead of writing them, graduated in 2003 with a DEC in Cinema and Communications from Dawson College , a B.A in Radio and Television Arts in 2008 from Ryerson University. Ramos joined the longest running sketch troupe at his university called RIOT, which started off his acting career with booking an ABC movie of the week (Path to 9/11 starring Harvey Keitel), all the while studying improvisation with The Second City in Toronto, and then with the Uprights Citizens Brigade and The PIT theater in New York City.
In 2017, Ramos performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival with his 60 minute show "MontreaL.A"; about his comedic journey from Montreal to Los Angeles. The following year, he returned with another whole new hour with "Comedy".
Ramos is also an accomplished filmmaker: in 2007, he made his debut at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival with "Scoopers"; a 15 mins short film about Dante working at an ice cream shop, his short "U.S.Eh!" was in the top 20 finalist for the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival x Instagram Shorts Competition. Ava Duvernay judged Dan's film "I loved Dan's film. It captures the deliciousness of life in the city...there is so much beauty in everyday life; U.S.EH! inspires me to slow down and take a look around." He also made a comeback as a finalist in 2018 with his minute long short "Life Flash" about the last 60 seconds of what Dan sees before he dies.
Ramos produced Marlo Thomas' show on AOL "Mondays With Marlo" in NYC, working closely with Marlo and her celebrity guests; ; such as Kevin James, Ali Wentworth and Ron Howard.
Dan now resides in L.A performing comedy and auditioning for film/tv. You can see him in his feature film debut in James Wan's Malignant where he plays the role of Basco, the police sketch artist.
