Evelina Manna is an Italian model, actress and producer. Born in Rome,
she felt in love with dance as a little girl when she saw for the first
time the étoile Carla Fracci on television. Her mother decided to
fulfill her desire by bringing her in a classic dance school. Soon
after, Evelina Manna became interested in acting. The Kid, Charlie
Chaplin's masterpiece and one of the greatest movies in the history of
cinema, convinced her to take this path inside the theater of the
church where she attended school. Her artistic career began in the
fashion industry: first in Paris and then in New York she had the
opportunity to work with top photographers, including Patrick
Demarchelier, Ellen Von Unwerth, Simon Emmett, Jonathan Lennard, Tony
Kelly, Alan Gelati, Signe Vilstrup, Jean Baptiste Greouille and Antoine
Verglas. These were years of intense activity, culminating with a
meeting in London with Susan Strasberg, who advised her to participate
in the seminars of Actor's Studio. The experience offered her the
opportunity to return to her love for acting and to start working in
theaters in off Broadway and in Rome, where she performed in the stage
adaptation of Annie Hall, Woody Allen's masterpiece. In Rome she
debuted also on television by acting in Padre Pio and La Guerra è
finita. Soon after, she started to act for cinema in Alessandro
D'Alatri's Casomai and Mimmo Calopresti's short film Una bellissima
bambina, presented at the 61st Venice International Film Festival. This
was a period of great achievements, during which she alternated passion
for cinema and theater to art photography for the most glamorous
magazines. In 2005 she joined the cast of Alexander, historical movie
directed by Oliver Stone. This was a great experience which gave her
the opportunity to act with Hollywood stars such as Colin Farrell,
Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, Jared Leto and Rosario Dawson. Two years
later Evelina Manna was the star and co-producer of Breaking the
Silence, spot against violence on women, developed for the European
Community. The project was born as a result of the establishment of
Moodyproduction, the production company she started with a group of
young professionals with the aim to create independent works related to
the world of culture, music and art in general. In 2010 she came back
to the small screen playing, along with Enrico Lo Verso, the leading
actress in the remake of the TV movie La donna velata. The movie is a
mystery thriller inspired by the legend of the veiled lady. She played
also for television the role of Eve in the miniseries Eve and Munchies,
where she acted as a space heroine with superpowers interacting with
the irreverent puppets. At the same time she continued her work in
production with the short film A Day & a Minute, which was presented
with great success on Taormina Film Fest 2011. In 2013 she produced
Let's Fall in Love, a spot against homophobia directed by Pappi
Corsicato, which premiered at Venice International Film Festival and
Palermo Pride. Vinodentro, directed by Ferdinando Vicentini Orgnani and
based on the novel by Fabio Marcotto, is the first production for
cinema by Moodyproduction.
