Native Austinite, Ryan Hancock began his career in acting by
auditioning for the role of a high school baseball player in Disney's,
The Rookie. After competing for one of the 30 spots against over 5,000
applicants, Hancock was selected as a high school 3rd baseman, filming
throughout the Spring and Summer of 2002. At the time, Hancock was
coaching high school baseball and football, so this role came as a
natural fit. The following year, Hancock played the role of a drinking
game contestant opposite Kevin Spacey in Alan Parker's thriller, The
Life of David Gale. Hancock then took a short break from acting until
Friday Night Lights began filming in Austin, TX. As a former coach,
this role also came naturally to him. It was not until the second
season of NBC's Revolution that Hancock started to pursue more acting
opportunities. Later that year, John Ridley's ABC pilot, American Crime, began filming in Austin and were looking for experienced cops to play the roles of local Modesto patrol officers. Hancock is seen in one of the most dramatic scenes of the pilot opposite Benito Martinez.
