Barry Clifton began his journey in the performing arts by studying Musical Theatre at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith at the age of thirteen. At 17, he took a detour from his theatrical aspirations to join the United States Marine Corps, where he served until 1981. After his honorable discharge, Clifton spent several years exploring various paths before rediscovering his passion for acting in 1991.

In recent years, Barry has made notable appearances in both film and television. He played Miles Tatum in the popular series Yellowstone (2018), working with Josh Lucas. In The Thing About Pam (2022), he appeared alongside Renée Zellweger and Josh Duhamel. Clifton also had roles in General Hospital (1963), sharing scenes with Laura Wright, and Hellfire, working with Stephen Lang, Scottie Thompson, and Dolph Lundgren. Most recently, Barry worked on the film Sovereign (2024), alongside Jacob Tremblay and Nick Offerman.
