Paul Barreto was born in Kenya and spent his childhood there in the 1980s and 90s, before moving to the UK where he now lives in the West of England. Prior to parenthood, he was a keen ballroom and Latin dancer, giving him a change of scene from his day job as senior leader in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He holds two Master's degrees in Engineering and Business Administration.
