Don Jones was born in Philadelphia and raised on a small Pennsylvania farm. He attended a country school with a total enrollment of about a hundred--two grades to a room and all 12 grades under on roof.

After a stint in the Army and a short career as a professional boxer, the movie bug bit him and he moved to California. Doing anything to make a living, he started doing stunts and tried acting. However, there were now mouths to feed and acting wasn't paying the bills, so he decided to move behind the camera. Starting in sound, he soon became interested in camera, as well as writing and directing low budget features including The Forest and Schoolgirls in Chains. He took work wherever he could find it, including the Discovery channel, commercials, educationals, German television--anything to make a living. He traveled the world in the process.

Now pretty much retired and living in Los Angeles, he leaves behind a half dozen low-budget movies and his novel, "Alma's Daughter," a generational, paranormal story about a teenage poltergeist.
