Jorge Valdés-Iga, a seasoned creative and a beacon of warmth and humor, has had a remarkable global journey. Born in Cuba in 1982 and raised in Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Costa Rica, New York, and Paris, Jorge's upbringing as the son of Mexican diplomats cultivated a broad cultural perspective, enriching his worldview and creative vision.
A lover of the arts, Jorge pursued a double major in Motion Pictures and Studio Art at the University of Miami, Florida, alongside a minor in Classical Guitar Performance. His passion for film also inspired him to found the UM Film Society, providing a nurturing platform for fellow film enthusiasts.
Jorge's multifaceted film career includes directing standout feature films such as "Hotel Chelsea" and "I Was There," and serving as a cinematographer for riveting documentaries such as 'Cocaine Cowboys II' and ESPN's 30/30 documentary "The U." His work earned him a feature in the esteemed American Cinematographer Magazine.
In parallel to his cinematic pursuits, through his own boutique creative agency VALDESIGA, Jorge collaborated with notable beauty and luxury brands including Ralph Lauren Fragrances, Lancôme, Clarisonic, Diesel, Zodiac, and Michele Watches, writing, producing, directing, and shooting TV, print, web, and social media advertisements. Notable mentions is the development and launch of Polo Red, Ralph Lauren Collection, and multiple campaigns for Diesel watches.
Jorge has studied acting with Susan Batson and Larry Moss and taken improvisation classes with the goal to refine his writing, deepen his understanding of the actor's craft, human emotions, psychology, and storytelling in general.
In 2020, Jorge's passion for philosophy led him to create "The Philosophy Treehouse," a club on Clubhouse with over 16,000 followers. You're Wrong" in 2022, and to produce "Socrates and The Oracle," an innovative animated series exploring the intersection of philosophy and artificial intelligence.
