Jean Ferrat 26 Aralık 1930'da Vaucresson, Hauts-de-Seine, Fransa'da doğdu. Saygısız yaşlı kadın (1965), Le coup de grâce (1965) ve Personne ne m'aime (1994) filmleriyle tanınan bir besteci ve oyuncuydu. Colette Laffont ve Christine Sèvres ile evliydi. 13 Mart 2010 tarihinde Aubenas, Ardèche, Fransa'da öldü.
