Born in Laos in 1969, Keoprasith Souvannavong is a radio, TV and written press journalist. He has been living in Paris for more than 30 years now, and since 1993 he works at Radio France Internationale (RFI) which is, thanks to its 46 million listeners, one of the leading media in the world. After having written and presented newscast and features and having reported on political and cultural events (such as film festivals) for 14 years, he is now chief editor at the Internet Service of RFI, which website is the world's most visited French-speaking news site.

Fond of cinema, he also acted in the feature film The Scent of the Green Papaya, which received the "Caméra d'or" and "Prix de la jeunesse" awards at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1993, as well as the "César" award in Paris as the best first feature film, and which was later nominated for an Oscar as the best foreign film.

He also acted as the main character in a radio serial broadcast on RFI, narrated documentary films and performed in advertising for French TV stations. Occasionally, he is a model for photographs and painters.

Enthusiastic about traveling, he likes films that make one travel around the world and inside oneself, and truly believes that cinema can draw closer people and cultures.
