Ivo Tonchev was born in Sofia in the family of Gena and Velko Tonchevs.
While still in school he was chosen to sing in the "Gusla" child chorus
and that's where he found his love to music and singing. His first
theatrical performance was at the very age of ten in the musical
"Oliver Twist", which is still being very popular. Afterwards he
continues his education in the first theatrical class in middle school
education for the 4xS Theater, which was very popular among the youth
at that time.
He acted in his first movie, "Diary of a Madman", at the age of fifteen after being accidentally liked on the street by the famous actor and director Marius Kurkinsky. He gets accepted in Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts where he studies for four years. Just after he his graduation he gets to play in the musical play "Rhythm" produced and created by the actor and director Andrey Batashov, which receives a great response by the press and media and is being played for more than four hundred times. His international performances in background roles is started when Millennium Films, an American movie studio, establishes itself in Nu Boyana Film Studios in Bulgaria, which is the biggest movie studio in Southeastern Europe.
