David Wristers (1999) is a Dutch actor born in Utrecht, The Netherlands. David grew up training and competing as an elite gymnast, becoming a Dutch junior national champion in 2016. He made his acting debut playing the leading role in the critically acclaimed feature film GOLD, directed by Rogier Hesp, co-starring Marcel Hensema and Loes Haverkort.
Leading Dutch newspaper Volkskrant praised his performance writing: 'Wristers portrays the young Timo with the perfect amount of vulnerability and strength.'
NRC wrote: 'Wristers carries the movie with a vulnerable kind of alienation.'
GOLD premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2020 and won the Dutch Academy Award for Best Cinematography during The Netherlands Film Festival 2020. In 2021 David can be seen in Jim Taihuttu's war thriller The East starring Marwan Kenzari and Martijn Lakemeier. Other projects in 2021 include Videoland series Follow de Soa, Flikken Maastricht and Het Verhaal van Nederland. Besides being a fluent English speaker, David has also mastered the German language, getting his Goethe certificate.
