Phillip Smith grew up on a steady diet of Stephen King, "Tales from the Crypt," and haunted hayrides, and fondly remembers freaking himself out as a kid with all-night Child's Play horror movie marathons. As such, he has developed a love of monsters, both human and supernatural. His horror scripts have garnered multiple accolades including a Top 8 for Horror in Slamdance, a Bronze Winner and the Top Finalist for Horror in the Beverly Hills Screenplay Competitions, a Semi-Finalist in the Emerging Screenwriter's Competition, a Semi-Finalist in the ISA Horror and Thriller Genre-Busting Script Competitions, and a Semi-Finalist for the Write Movies Competition. He was also hired to write a historical action feature, "End of an Empire."

He loves exploring how horror can creep into the characters' realities to mess with their minds and open old wounds.
