Also known under the pseudonym Jackson Publick. His debut as a writer was a comedy superhero comic book "Cement Shooz," which got the attention of Ben Edlund. This led to McCulloch working as a storyboard artist on Edlund's animated series Kene (1994). He later story boarded PB&J Otter (1998) and Sheep in the Big City (2000). After unsuccessfully pitching his own series The Venture Bros. (2003) to Comedy Central twice, he finally convinced Adult Swim to pick it. He is also a voice actor, known for voicing a number of the Venture Bros. characters, including Hank Venture and the Monarch, several background characters on Superjail! (2007) and the five-headed dragon Hiram McDaniels on the podcast "Welcome to Night Vale."
