Nicole Stoffman is a Canadian actress and jazz singer who was born on
March 16, 1972 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Nicole is a native
Torontonian who learned French at the age of seven in the town of
Aix-En-Provence, in the south of France. In 1987, Nicole was nominated for a Gemini award for her portrayal of Stephanie Kaye in the legendary CBC TV series, Degrassi Junior High. Other acting credits include the leading role in the TV Sitcom "Learning the Ropes" opposite Lyle Alzado (L.A. Raiders) and Yannick Bisson (Murdoch Mysteries), and the leading role in the feature film "Anchor Zone", opposite Mark Critch (This Hour has 22 Minutes), and Henry Czerny (The Boys of St. Vincent).
In 2002 she was the featured vocalist for Jeff Healey's Jazz Wizards, an old time "hot" jazz ensemble featuring repertoire from the 1920's and 1930's. On their inaugural cross-Canada tour, Nicole performed with the Wizards at the Montreal and Ottawa Jazz Festivals, among many other festivals and concerts from coast to coast.
From 2002-2006, Nicole was Artistic Director, vocalist, rhythm guitarist and band leader of her French Cafe jazz band, "Nicole Stoffman's Jazz Boheme". Personnel included Roberto Rosenman (Solo Guitar), Drew Jurecka (Violin) and Chris Bartos (Double Bass). Le Jazz Boheme appeared on CBC's Vinyl Cafe, Radio-Canada's "Les Arts et Les Autres", and at Yonge Dundas Square's lunchtime concert series. Their client list included Copps Coliseum, Mediacom, and Air France.
She studied vocal technique with Caroline Leslie (Royal Conservatory of Music Alumnus), vocal coach to the cappella singing sensations, "The Nylons". She studied guitar with Steve Briggs of "The Behop Cowboys" a Toronto-based western swing band which was awarded the 2002 Livin' Blues Gold Award for Blues Excellence.
She graduated with distinction from York University in December, 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies. In 2014, she graduated with high distinction with a degree in political science, history and french studies from the University of Toronto.
In 2011, Nicole was selected as one of 36 candidates out of hundreds of candidates from across the country to participate in the Parliamentary Guide Program in Ottawa. During this time, Nicole gave 200 tours of Canada's Parliament to 5,000 visitors from across the country and around the world in both official languages.
Nicole is currently enrolled in a professional certificate program studying fundraising management at Humber College.
