Born and raised in New England (Swampscott, Massachusetts) Jim is used to swimming in very cold ocean water. His family later lived on Rocky Pond in Gilmanton, New Hampshire near Lake Winnipesaukee which has also been a major influence.

A proud NYC resident upon graduating high school (long ago) Jim is the ultimate "big city, small town Yankee", and has no plan on changing.

Satisfying roles on Law & Order SVU, The Blacklist, Bull, the second season of Netflix The Night Agent, Hallmark's Last Vermont Christmas, the sports feature Road to Boston (directed by master director Je-Kyu Kang), and the recently wrapped feature Ricky (directed by Rashad Frett) are among recent jobs that seem to indicate Jim should just keep going.
