Niyanta Acharya is an actor turned screenwriter. She writes high stakes thrillers that question the nature of human behavior, as well as grounded fantasy and dramady about characters struggling with identity crises.

She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville and UCLA Extension's screenwriting program. She holds a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University.

As an actor, some of her credits include Disney's "Planes," "Tales of Titans" on Funny or Die and a supporting role in "The Bachelors," an indie film starring Fred Willard.
